Stone King is an ambitious and purpose-driven law firm specialising in the Business & Social Enterprise, Charity, Education, Public Faith and Private Client sectors. Our collaborative culture and core values are intertwined with our ethos of doing the right thing by our clients, communities, and our people. Our passion for these sectors has resulted in Stone King being recognised as national leaders across the country.

Overview:

We are now looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our Finance Team as a Data Analyst Apprentice. This hands-on role offers the chance to gain valuable experience in data analytics, supporting key financial operations, and contributing to the way the firm uses data to drive decision-making. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, gaining full training and a recognised qualification.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting to support day-to-day operations and decision-making.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance self-service reports and dashboards (SSRS, Power BI).
  • Conduct data quality checks and routine cleansing to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Identify and collate data from different internal and external sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across operational and legal teams to gather requirements and present findings.
  • Analyse data to discover patterns, trends, and correlations.

Essential skills:

  • Enthusiastic about data, problem-solving, and uncovering insights.
  • Comfortable with numbers and analytical thinking.
  • Eager to learn tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SQL (previous exposure a plus, but not essential).
  • Organised, reliable, and accurate in handling routine tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Curious, proactive, and keen to develop professionally over time.

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Benefits:

  • Profit share scheme.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Life assurance (4x salary).
  • Pension scheme.
  • 28 days holiday (plus statutory UK holidays).
  • Additional CSR day per year.
  • Hybrid working opportunities.
  • Strong focus on wellbeing and mental health (signatory of the Mindful Business Charter).

Future prospects:

There is strong potential for progression upon completion of the apprenticeship, including opportunities to specialise further in data analytics or financial reporting.
