Job Description

Join the Assembly team at Williams Racing, where the final build of our Formula 1 cars brings together the work of over 1,000 people across the organisation. As an Industrial Placement student, you’ll work hands-on with expert technicians to support the build and maintenance of race-ready vehicles. You’ll help integrate mechanical and electrical systems, contribute to component sign-off and servicing, and ensure every part meets the highest standards of safety, precision, and performance.

Assembly Industrial Placement

This role offers immersive experience in full car builds and race-day readiness, ideal for engineering students with a basic understanding of F1 systems, strong drawing interpretation skills, and CAD proficiency. Your work will directly impact vehicle reliability and performance in a fast-paced, inclusive motorsport environment.

Shape the Future

  • Gain hands-on experience assembling mechanical components for Formula 1 cars.
  • Learn from experienced technicians and deepen your understanding of build processes and F1 systems.
  • Contribute to the final stages of car assembly, where engineering meets execution.

Make Real Impact

  • Support the build, sign-off, and servicing of components with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Participate in daily performance meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate across departments to meet production deadlines and drive reliability.

Find Your Place

  • Engineering disciplines, preferably Mechanical, Automotive, or Motorsport Engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings; CAD experience is a plus.
  • Thrive in a collaborative, detail-focused team environment.
