Pricing & Planning Analyst Placement
Primary Purpose of the Job
Our team works with the wider business to deliver projects on behalf of the Controlling team and the wider business, much of it in line with regulatory requirement. As such, our team has responsibility for understanding the business requirements, working cross functionally with IT system teams to ensure a speedy and accurate delivery of the business requirement.
The team also supports other business areas with projects.
Should you be successful you will be responsible for the working in conjunction with the General Manager - Pricing and Planning Methods to define and deliver requirements the FCA recommendations into Dealer Commission and VWFS point of sale replacement
Main Responsibilities
- Dealer Commissions Project
- Used Car Profitability Analysis
- Point of Sale replacement
- Support the Controlling team with the annual planning process
- Support key projects deputising as subject matter expert when appropriate
- Support adhoc queries from internal and external teams.
- Responsible for development of pricing model to show impact between the different pricing methods.
- Develop ability to develop reports using Business Objects and understand data contained with the profit cube Universe.
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis to support the General Manager – Pricing and Planning Methods and the Head of Controlling
Principal Contacts / Working Relationships
- Point of Sale replacement Project Team – Provide input into meetings, understand and check core calculations and assist with Testing.
- Senior Management Team within Risk and Controlling – Act as point of contact for key stakeholders and produce updates on project progress
- Legal & Compliance – Work with legal and compliance to understand detail behind regulatory changes impacting our core systems
- IT including Small Change and Project Teams – Supporting system and reporting changes as they are required and correcting technical issues
- Operations – Support teams with replicating system calculations to answer Customer Complaints escalated to Board of Management
Decision Making Scope
- To identify and champion opportunities that can improve processes
- Identify area of non-compliance with core financial calculations and seek resolution
Key Challenges
- Organising own workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Confidence to challenge report outputs & suggest potential process improvements.
- Having a commercial awareness of our business and how it needs to reacts to economic and regulatory developments
- Understanding how the different business units interact
- Understanding the agile project methodology used within VWFS
Education, Training and Experience
- Highly numerate/ proven mathematical skills – able to interpret reports and understand the “story” behind the numbers
- Good knowledge of Excel and willingness to learn other data reporting programmes
- An interest in Finance or Business Analysis
- Studying towards a degree, preferably Maths, Economics or Business related
