We are currently inviting applications to join our multidisciplinary in vitro pharmacology team situated at the world-renowned Francis Crick Institute in the heart of London. This is a stimulating opportunity to gain insights into the drug discovery process, collaborate with international teams, and contribute to our early discovery initiatives.
Your Core Responsibilities
- As an in vitro pharmacology student, you will master the use of advanced laboratory technologies and equipment, including automation. This will empower you to generate high-quality data, enabling our project teams to make informed decisions and advance compound development.
- You will be entrusted with the design and execution of a structured work plan, which will be consolidated into a written report and presentation for your university. This will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your research and communication skills.
- Take ownership of your own time, reagents and consumables to ensure efficient execution of your experiments and showcasing your excellent organizational skills.
- Engage in our team learning environment by asking insightful questions and sharing your knowledge. This will help foster a culture of collaborative learning and continuous improvement.
- Presenting your results and ideas in meetings, both verbally and through written communication, will enable you to contribute to our company's innovative culture.
- You will be responsible for maintaining contemporary records of your experiments in an electronic notebook and adhering to our company's lab safety rules.
Requirements
- Are seeking a 12-month placement in their third or penultimate year of study, with plans to return to your degree course post-placement.
- Are pursuing a relevant discipline such as Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biosciences, or similar.
- Should demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills, ideally with a knowledge of basic scientific calculations.
Nice to have, but not essential:
- Some experience with laboratory experimentation.
