To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I highly enjoy my degree apprenticeship programme because it gives me the chance to learn while gaining hands on experience in the construction industry. I work alongside experienced professionals that allows me to consistently learn and develop my skills. The balance of study and works helps me apply what I learn at university directly to my job. Overall I am finding the apprenticeship programme rewarding and I feel like I am building a solid foundation for my future career.

- Gained experience in contract administration.
- Developed problem solving skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship programme is structured very well and I feel like I have a good university/work balance. I attend my block week at Sheffield Hallam University once every two months, I get the opportunity to socialise and network with other apprentices who have the same career aspirations as myself. I am entitled to study time once a week to complete my university work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a good amount of support from my employer, I have check in's with my line manager weekly and we have got contacts with our emerging talent team if we need support from them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have received a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications, I get a lot of support when I am on my block week at university and then I can also contact my university lecturers when I am not on block week and they normally organise a call before I have an assignment due to see if we need any support. I have also got my own mentor at university who I have progress calls with every 12 weeks.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification through my training provider has really helped me perform better in my role as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor. The topics I study, like measurement, contracts, and construction technology, directly relate to the work I do day-to-day, which makes it easier to apply what I’m learning. It’s given me a stronger understanding of the industry and built my confidence when handling tasks like reviewing drawings or preparing documents. The support and resources from my provider also help me stay on track, and overall, the qualification complements my on-the-job experience really well.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are plenty of opportunities and networking events.
