What was the interview process like?
The interview process was similar to most other placement companies; there was an application form, telephone interview, online test and an assessment day where it was really great to see what the company was like, meet the placement team and also previous students that had come back to the company.
How much responsibility were you given?
I have been given loads of responsibility which makes my role really exciting! I’ve had the opportunity to make important decisions, such as adding a new destination and additional hotels into the TUI programme. It’s great to have contributed so much to the business.
What advice would you give to someone applying for your role?
All I would say is do your research beforehand and know your answers inside and out. The company is really friendly and they encourage you to do well so show you are passionate on the day and just try to relax - then your personality will come out naturally!
What has been your biggest challenge?
I’d probably say building on my confidence and being able to comfortably speak to all levels of management within the business has been my biggest challenge. This was quite easy to overcome however, as everyone is really friendly and approachable.
What did you most enjoy about your role?
My role is really exciting and no two days are the same in Product. When we work on the launch of a new holiday season I complete many rewarding tasks such as pricing and selecting the hotels to feature in the programme. I’ve also been lucky enough to go on a resort visit to three Greek Islands!
