What attracted you to Centrica?
Lots of things. The opportunity to work for a FTSE 100 energy company. The work environment. The company values. The fact that Centrica cares so deeply about customer service and is committed to the development of its people as well.
What experiences have you gained on the programme to date?
My roles so far have been varied and exciting. I have been involved in everything from gathering data and delivering it to key stakeholders to working on debt prevention strategies and influencing pricing.
What has been your biggest highlight?
One piece of work I completed received such a positive response that it went all the way up to Gab Barbaro, the MD of our UK business. His response was also very positive, and my work ended up having a real impact on business strategy.
Can you tell us about your current role?
Right now, I am working as a Portfolio Performance Analyst. My job is to assess the health of our gas and electricity business portfolio and ensure we minimise the risk of our customer base. This involves delivering monthly reports on the status of the portfolio and investigating any issues that may have arisen. I am also responsible for managing projects designed to improve our debt prevention strategy. My days are spent carrying out data mining and analysis, and delivering key insights and findings, as well as managing stakeholders.
What do you like best about working for Centrica?
The opportunities you have to challenge people above you and shake the organisation up. Your voice is always valued and everyone is willing to hear you out. I am also a big fan of Centrica’s culture, which is welcoming and diverse. Everyone here is very open-minded and you meet people from all walks of life. The fact that there is a nice balance between work and fun activities makes it a really enjoyable place to work.
What would you say to graduates thinking of applying to Centrica?
If you are a high achiever who loves working with people and values a healthy work-life balance, then this programme is definitely for you.
