Digital & Technology Solutions Apprentice

My decision to apply for an apprenticeship at Airbus was driven by my desire to work in technology and join a global leader in innovation. I now have a role that combines high-level training alongside immediate application of knowledge in the real world work environment. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work for a world leading aircraft manufacturer. Having the opportunity to use new technology to help build the future of flight and production, while simultaneously earning a degree, was the perfect career start I could have dreamed of.

The Digital Technology and Solution apprenticeship programme offers a unique blend of academic learning and opportunities. Allowing me to rotate though different departments such as cyber security, quality, infrastructure and more helped me find my true strengths and passions. Beyond the academics, the most significant benefit is the continuous mentoring and investment from Airbus in my knowledge and personal growth. From day one, I have been supported by professionals who have assisted in my long-term career development. The highlight of my apprenticeship so far has been the immediate hands-on and practical nature of work. I expected to shadow for a long time, but I was handed real responsibilities which allowed me to contribute to projects and have an impact from day one. Seeing how an idea or project I helped create supports real-world decision making is incredibly rewarding and motivating. Walking into the office everyday and seeing the incredible impact of the technology that we support gives me a pinch-me moment every day, knowing that the work we are doing is contributing to systems that connect the world, including the very aircraft that keeps me connected to my home in Moldova.

Thanks to the supportive culture at Airbus, I have not only improved my professional skills, but also my soft skills. I am grateful for the fantastic opportunities I have had during my apprenticeship so far, and am excited for what’s to come.
