Commercial Graduate

From an early age, I was fascinated by the sight of the Airbus facilities, always asking my parents questions as we drove past. When it was time to apply for graduate roles, joining Airbus felt like the natural next step. I was incredibly fortunate to be accepted into the Airbus Global Graduate Programme (AGGP) as a Flight Physics Graduate.

Graduates, interns, and apprentices are given the opportunity to sign up to outreach teams and events around Bristol. Since I heard about STEM careers through similar projects, I knew I had to take part. During my graduate programme, I had the opportunity to co-lead one of the outreach initiatives and visit various schools in Bristol. It was extremely rewarding to encourage students into STEM careers.

The highlight of my graduate programme was the two weeks we got to spend in Toulouse with graduates from all over the world. Across both years of the programme, we flew to the Airbus Leadership University to spend a week developing our non-technical skills together. It was an incredible opportunity to meet graduates from around the world, focus on our personal development and career aspirations, and build lasting memories together. Knowing that others were on the same journey, sharing experiences and supporting each other, made a huge difference. I was so glad to have that sense of community throughout my graduate journey.

The two years I spent on the programme significantly boosted my confidence and gave me a clearer picture of my contributions to the field of engineering. Having moved around different teams, departments and functions in my various placements, I was able to apply my skills in new ways. This opportunity meant that by the end of the programme, I felt more equipped to take on the responsibilities of my final role. I am excited for what’s ahead for me at Airbus, and grateful to have seen so much of the company so early on in my career.
