Commercial Apprentice

I applied for the Business Apprenticeship Programme at Airbus because of the company's position as a global leader in the aerospace industry. I was particularly drawn to the mission to “pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world” — it matches my values and passion for contributing to a sustainable future. I believe that an apprenticeship is the most effective way to build a solid professional foundation and to launch my career in a dynamic business environment — because of the focus on practical, hands-on learning you get throughout the programme.

During my apprenticeship at Airbus, I benefitted from the significant investment into my personal and professional development. I had frequent mentoring sessions and access to development tools to support my professional growth and achieve my long-term goals. I was selected to represent Airbus at a conference, held at the House of Commons, where I met and collaborated with other apprentices from across the aerospace, defence and security industries. As a member of the Early Careers community, I was immediately connected to like-minded professionals through frequent social events and employee resource group projects that supported my networking skills and my sense of belonging at Airbus.

The Business Apprenticeship at Airbus offered a unique way of combining academic learning, on-the-job training and earning a salary to enable me to secure my bachelor’s degree and a permanent role at the end of the programme. Not only did the Apprenticeship provide me with a clear route for progression, it also enabled me to work alongside experienced professionals within my field that shared their invaluable expertise, technical knowledge and essential skills.
