Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
- Drafting and review of license agreements, amendments, NDAs, service agreements, marketing agreements.
- Communication (verbal and written) with clients, commercial teams, finance, leads, senior attorneys and junior contract administrators on a daily basis.
- Contract law research and review to reassess the business processes.
- Contract administration of the deals: signature and filing processes (DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat), Deal Trackers (Excel) and closing deals for the team.
- Knowledge of the French, UK, Eastern Europe, German, Nordics, African, Italian markets.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a lot of responsibilities during my fixed term 1-year contract as a fully graduated working professional. I was handling the same work as a contract administrator and provided with quality work and an important workload. However, I was constantly limited to be considered as an intern and needing to be reviewed and approved by a lot of upper management, while being asked to provide the work of a contract administrator.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a lot of support and guidance during my job. However, my job title and my salary did not meet my workload and the quality of my work which made me feel that my work was undervalued and invisible within the team.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my work at Disney within the Media Distribution legal team but to a certain extend as I was underpaid and treated like an intern while I was doing more work and had more responsibilities than that.

What advice would you give to others applying to The Walt Disney Company
- Ask for work to the different members of the team at the beginning to make sure that you are looped in the deal processes, as long as you do not feel busy enough.
- Set up a bi-weekly catch-up meeting with your manager to talk about the different work you are doing so they are aware of the work you will do on other territories which will give yourself value. The nature and amount of work can then be better reported to upper management and it will give you a chance to discuss the type of work you want to do with your manager/lead.
- Ask for a raise.
