Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Residential valuation: role involved inspecting prime flats and houses in prime central London, carrying out due diligence, finding comparables, report writing, and calling local agents to get market knowledge in order to get to a final value.
Management: role involved keeping all leaseholders updated with any maintenance issues/works, sending out monthly meter readings, organising HIU servicing with contractor and residents.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was carrying out valuations from start to finish within a month. I would do the whole process, and then get my valuation cross checked at the end,

Also have developed better customer service skills as i am regularly dealing with unhappy residents.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have really enjoyed my time at Savills. Changing teams whilst working at home in a pandemic definitely had its challenges, but nonetheless it has been great. I have no regrets about doing a placement year.
