Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Completing tasks set by my trainees such as researching, drafting, compiling documents. There were also around 2/3 Teams calls each day with talks on Shoosmiths' Divisions, initiatives and workshops.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was a great insight into how the firm operates, such as seeing what day-to-day tasks involve, the focus on business opportunities and fostering client relationships.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt more about paying attention to detail and delivering results, such as focusing on what exactly the client wants and delivering that outcome. I have also learnt lots through talking to the teams here, such as Employment and Commercial.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture and atmosphere is amazing; very welcoming and friendly so I felt from the first day that I was appreciated and supported. Everyone was always kind and offered support whenever I may need it.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I am so grateful for attending the scheme and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I learned so much about the role of a solicitor, what working at Shoosmiths is like, and developed my mindset for creating value for businesses.
