UKI D&A Business Engagement Review

Engaging with the UKI business to ensure our Data and Analytics tools are serving them as they need to perform their role.
This involved providing training on how to use our tools, translating business requirements into technical requirements for our Data Analysts and Data Engineers, and acting as the face of the UKI D&A team to engage with users regularly.

It varied, the first half of the placement I was learning the business, the team, the industry so there wasn't a load of responsibility in terms of deliverables. But in the second half my responsibilities grew, and grew considerably, as I was trusted with more and more projects/work.

Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Senior Stakeholder Management/Engagement, Microsoft Power BI, Identity and Access Management, Governance, PowerPoint Presentations, Time Management.
Also learned how to work, engage, behave, and succeed in a company of this size.

Due to staff issues in the team its hard to say, however as the staff gaps were filled throughout the placement, the support and guidance grew, and by the end I was very happy with the feedback I was receiving.

The company is fantastic to work for, and the placement offers so many benefits. The culture of the company is generally good however it takes some getting used to as it is like its own world within a company - where you will engage with colleagues as if they are external.

It came with its challenges but come the end of the it I look back fondly and believe the experience to be invaluable.
