Marketing Associate Review

I organise, compose, review, and schedule blogs, social media posts, infographics, and other content for social media channels. I also analyse the product performance in EMEA and run two email newsletter programs through Marketo. I help with list uploads, setting up campaigns, and working with the broader marketing team on projects to educate customers about how to improve their experience when using SAP Concur products.

I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement to plan marketing events and client communications.

Content creation: Writing and editing newsletters, market updates, case studies, and success stories.
Data analysis: Analysing and reporting MQL (Marketing Qualified Leads) data and product performance KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
Event management: Organizing and coordinating events like Customer Day, Fusion, and employee network group events.
Project management: Managing multiple projects simultaneously with varying deadlines and priorities.
Podcast/ Video production: Recording, editing, and producing intern podcasts.
Public speaking and presentation: Participating in and organising intern talks.
Recruitment: Assisting with intern recruitment processes.
Market research: Gathering information on industry trends and competitor analysis for product marketing newsletters. Internal market insight surveys as well.
Email marketing: Designing, writing, and sending targeted email campaigns.

I received lots of support and guidance throughout and the placement team said that we could always contact them if we needed anything.

Everyone in the office is approachable however most teams lack cultural diversity making it difficult to connect as you feel as if you can’t fit in.

My placement was a great opportunity to learn different areas of marketing. The placement team was always supportive and there was lots of different opportunities throughout.
