Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role is primarily supporting the UKI sustainability GTM team through their entire sales cycle. From assisting with pipeline management to supporting with customer relationship management. in addition to that my role is also focused on Social Value delivery. Organising events and executing initiatives to increase Social Value for SAP and our public sector customers.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a good amount of responsibility. There were various stretch projects I ran independently from my team throughout my placement, such as a peer to peer presentation skills workshop series. However I always had the support from my line manager and team whenever I needed it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

At SAP you get to set various development goals which you get to work on throughout the year. One of the goals I set was to increase me excel skills which I have developed significantly. Another goal I had was to improve my networking skills, I got to attend countless networking events and even run exhibition booths to improve this skill.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a great amount of support and guidance. I had weekly check in calls with my manager as well as quarterly development calls which were more focused on my personal growth and progression, rather than task execution. As well as that, every colleague I have met has been super friendly and supportive.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Incredible! SAP is such an innovative and exciting company to be in. With constant news on new innovations and great customer use case stories coming out, that excitement is embodied by all SAP colleagues. This makes it such an exciting and motivating place to work.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I had a fantastic year. I have grown professionally significantly and have greatly broadened my career opportunities. However, one of my favourite experiences this year has been the placement cohort around me. There are 35 other interns who I've shared this experience this, and I've made some genuine friends for life. There is a great community feel.
