Industrial Placement - Human Resources L&D Review

In my role, I help Unilever employees develop and achieve their career goals, look after everything digital-learning and find ways to increase engagement. It is a truly fulfilling role and not one day is the same!

The amount of responsibility I have been given was high, which I enjoyed! I have been assigned projects that I have led myself, but also supported on projects that required multiple teams to deliver. I have also done things outside my role that thoroughly supported my development and helped me decide what I like doing most!
In addition, I was always supported by my team, my wellbeing being a priority at all times.

Yes, I have developed many skills and learned new ones!
For instance I have become quite skilled in design thinking, which will definitely help me in the future in any role I might end up doing.

I was supported by everyone around me. I always felt that I can ask anything I was unsure about, which built my confidence, especially in the beginning. My manager and team were always thinking about ways of helping me to develop and gain the most of my placement.

The general atmosphere is extremely friendly and supportive, wellbeing being made a priority. I always felt supported and that my opinion and input are highly valued by my colleagues.

My placement was probably one of the best decisions I have made towards shaping my career in the way I want to. I have gained valuable insight into the company culture and also learned more about HR, ultimately helping me decide what I want to do in my career. Even though starting during a global pandemic, I have enjoyed my placement very much!
