Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
A split between working in the office and working in the lab. Carrying out testing as and when needed. Supporting projects the team are working on, completing any reports or data analysis based on experimental testing carried out in the lab.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was able to carry out some testing of my own as-well-as supporting other testing, where I was responsible for publishing an internal report.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have been able to build upon skills at all stages of experimentation from planning, carrying out the test, data analysis and reporting out. I have also gained an improved understanding of the bioprocess as a whole and aspects surrounding drug manufacture. To add to this some in depth knowledge of project management and the new product development process.

I felt as though I received sufficient support and guidance from line manager and team members. I also felt as though I could reach out if anything was needed.

The general atmosphere in the office was great, everyone was very friendly and it was a good place to work.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed working on real products that had real uses. On top of doing meaningful work I also enjoyed having a variation between admin work at the office, laboratory practical work and project meetings. It was a great opportunity to speak to many associates all doing slightly different things and understanding better their job roles.
