Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The programme was incredibly engaging, providing us an authentic insight into the firm's projects, departments, and culture. The firm bolstered a positive learning environment, encouraging us to ask questions to further our knowledge of finance. Many hands-on experiences were given such as the opportunity to shadow an analyst and work on our own project. Overall, an amazing experience that I would heavily encourage others to apply for.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very interesting to learn about the multitude of roles Lazard offers at their firm. Prior to this programme, my understanding of finance was very one-dimensional. However, after attending Lazard's Spring Insight Programme, I can confidently identify the differences in each department, along with having developed an acute interest in one or more of them myself.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
We were trained in Financial Valuation techniques and project structuring. Along with this, through Lazard's large variety of panelists, I was able to better understand the structure of each division and the type of work they carry out.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
I found the company culture to be honestly incredibly positive. They were extremely welcoming and facilitated my questions and built on my understanding of finance. The advice and insights I received I believed to be invaluable. This insight has made me more driven to pursue a career in Financial advisory, specifically in Lazard.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the insight to a great extent. I found it incredibly informative and I cannot stress enough the sheer amount of knowledge I gained over only 3 days. I would highly recommend this programme.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lazard
I would advise applicants to show initiative prior to applying to Lazard. This can include pursuing any sort of leadership or technical experience that reflects your interest in learning. I would also encourage them to try and get immersed in the world of finance by reading up the latest deals and trying to understand the rationales behind them.
