Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight involved three days of learning from industry professionals including bankers across different product and industry groups, as well as an analyst buddy. Throughout the three days each participant met with their buddy for advice/shadowing, worked on a project in groups, and had the opportunity to ask questions to all speakers and HR. At the end of the three days each team presented their presentation on the given case study.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was intriguing to learn about the different teams at Lazard from analysts, associates, and VPs working in each team. I now have a clearer picture of which team I would like to work in. The reception we had at the end was particularly useful because we could have one on one chats with all the bankers.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed financial skills through the training we did, as well as a better understanding of how deals and investment banking works as a whole. Most importantly they taught us how to manage client relationships, and what the day to day of banking was like.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was welcoming especially to questions. At the end of several talks the analysts even wanted to take more questions than we had for them. All of the employees went out of their way to give constructive criticism so that we could improve on our PowerPoints.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The insight was enjoyable because it was hands on and engaging. Not only did we get to interact with the bankers, but we were able to learn more about the company, as well as our future peers.
