Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I spent 3 days at Jefferies gaining valuable experience in Equity research and the company as a whole. As part of the program, I received talks from Jefferies employees, training from 'Training the Street', completed a group project, and undertook some work shadowing.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

I learnt a lot about the field of Equity Research and all the possible roles within this field at Jefferies.
I did not learn quite as much about other roles at Jefferies however, there were some talks about this.

I developed key interpersonal and presentation skills through networking events and presenting my group project to a panel.
I gained a lot of industry-specific knowledge during my time at Jefferies, specifically the jargon used in Equity Research.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Exceptionally welcoming culture with very flat and forward-thinking leadership. The general atmosphere was professional and positive.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

It was an amazing experience and I found it invaluable for my career development. While it was hard work, I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in working at Jefferies or in Equity Research.
