Communications Intern Review

My daily tasks would vary depending on what campaign or event we were working on. However, typical tasks for these projects would consist of content approvals, daily community management, liaising both internally and externally with several agencies to make sure everyone was aligned on the task in hand, managing budget, creating writing materials, working out operational elements for press/influencers and getting involved in creating thought-leadership campaigns.

I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement year which enabled me to grow and develop within the industry. I was given the responsibility to manage Adobe UK instagram account where my opinions were trusted to review content for approval, manage influencer work-stream, engage in community management and develop campaigns with a social media agency. Also, I was given the responsibility to manage quarterly budgets, manage all the operational side for comms at Summit EMEA and write content a range of content for a range of different purposes.

I received constant support from both my manager and everyone in my team. If I had any questions they would always get answered and if I was stuck on tasks they would take time to explain more. I am so grateful to have been a team who was so welcoming and inspiring to work for.

The atmosphere in the London office (where I worked) was a professional, but also a very friendly atmosphere. The open planned space made it easy to communicate with all of the marketing department and I met a lot of new people just by being in the office and having conversations. I would always grab lunch with either members from my team or the interns who were in that day. The office provided drinks every Thursday and hosted lunch and after work events regularly.

I loved my placement at Adobe and am so grateful that I received such an amazing experience that will help me develop in future career roles. I met so many inspirational people, loved my team and made friends with the interns from other teams. I was always treated like an employee and had the chance to work on amazing campaign activations and PR events.
