Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
In the past few days, I have been introduced to the team's day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, such as conducting research on tax legislation and property market trends, assisting with the preparation of tax computations and claims for capital allowances, and supporting the team with site inspections and valuations of properties. I have also been able to observe how the team communicates with clients and other professionals, and how they work collaboratively to complete projects.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I have gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of tax relief in the real estate industry, and how Savills is a key player in helping businesses to navigate this complex area. Learning about the different roles within the team has also been enlightening. It has given me a broader understanding of the various skillsets required to work in this field, and the range of tasks and responsibilities that are involved.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
One of the key insights I gained during my internship was the importance of attention to detail when preparing tax computations and claims. This involved a thorough understanding of the legislation and the ability to identify qualifying items of expenditure. Another insight was the importance of good communication skills. Working in a team, I needed to be able to communicate effectively with other team members, as well as with clients and other professionals. This involved being able to explain complex tax concepts in simple terms and listening carefully to feedback and instructions.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
he company culture and general atmosphere at Savills has been very positive and welcoming. From my first day as a Spring Intern in the Capital Allowances team, I have felt part of the team and valued as a member of the company. One of the things that stands out to me about the company culture is the emphasis on collaboration and teamwork.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my insight into the Capital Allowances team at Savills. As a Spring Intern, I have been able to gain valuable practical experience and learn a great deal about the real estate industry and tax relief.
