Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I was part of the Central London Retail team, shadowing a graduate.
My roles included calculating rates payable using the new business rates for each of the properties, completing marketing brochures for units going on the market and other tasks such as finding suitable tenants to occupy available units. I also managed to get out of the office and attend viewings with possible tenants.
The department overviews were very useful to get a taste of the different departments within the business and having a number of networking opportunities was great to get to know people.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

The department talks where valuable in hearing from other departments within the business and showed the opportunities. It was interesting to hear about how the rotations work and the opportunity that presents.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

This role has built on many existing skills such as teamwork, work ethic, communication and thinking outside the box. It was valuable to shadow a graduate and learn client communication skills during viewings for example.
