Early Careers Placement Student Review

Managing end to end recruitment for our placements, grads and apprentices. Coordinating university events and liaising with stakeholders to tailor events to our recruitment needs.
Developing recruitment strategies and processes to provide a better candidate experience. Dealing with candidate and university queries is also a part of my role on a daily basis.

I have been given far more responsibility than ever expected. My people leader has provided me independent projects that are my responsibility only, which is very rewarding.

I have lear'nt a wide range of new skills since being at GE Aerospace. My communication and delivery is far more advanced now, as I believe I can present myself well during talks and meetings. Also organisation skills are a key part of my role, something that I lacked beforehand.

I have received excellent support during my placement from my people leader and other members of staff. Whenever I have felt worried, I always feel comfortable discussing my concerns with my people leader. She helps me stay relaxed in high pressure situations and without that support I would not be the person I am now.

The culture has been very welcoming and warm. All of my stakeholders and always very friendly and willing to help in any situation that I may need. As I work with stakeholders across the UK I have had a unique opportunity to engage with lots of people across the business and not just my base site.

I have enjoyed my placement far more than expected. I feel very knowledgeable and prepared for my future career. All roles can stressful at times, however its the support I have received to deal with those high pressure situations that has helped me to develop as an individual.
