Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

my role as a Process improvement placment is to support the continuous improvement of manufacturing and business processes to help drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance. I work with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, analyse process data, and help implement practical solutions that improve productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen operational performance. This placement gives me exposure to lean principles, problem-solving methods, and real-world improvement projects.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes , I helped and also lead many process improvement events such as 5S, process mapping, kaizen events , standardizing processes and as well as contacting external suppliers to help with projects

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed and learnt so many skills that i can also carry on to any roles for the future including technical and interpersonal. Some examples are presentation and communication skills by talking to operators and other stakeholders as well as presenting to executives - so being able to storytell from a low and high level

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my experience; it has been eye opening as i have learnt so much from this placement. This includes developing practical and technical skills that i can take and implement anywhere I go as well as building a good rapport/relationship with people.
