IDigital Technology Placement - D&S Salesforce Review

Assisting the Salesforce consolidation of the Defense and Systems orgs into a unified platform for Sales & Business Development (S&BD). Responsible for end-to-end delivery: gathering business requirements, authoring user stories, collaborating with developers on architecture, and executing technical implementations to streamline the end-to-end sales pipeline.

I’ve had the opportunity to take on a diverse range of responsibilities, from managing the Salesforce instance for our Sales team to supporting our Contracts team. Beyond maintaining the system, I focused on improving Sales pipeline tracking by building custom reports and dashboards for daily KPI monitoring. I also got to lead a SharePoint project for the wider team, which was a great opportunity to collaborate and expand my internal network.

The most rewarding learning curve for me has been developing my Salesforce configuration skills. I had never used the platform before this placement, but I am now at a point where I confidently implement small- medium technical backend changes. Crucially, I have improved my communication skills. Presenting technical changes to teams, giving live demos of my implementations to ensure they completely understand the new workflows helped me to be more confident in presenting and engaging in conversations

Despite my manager leaving the team midway through my internship, the team's strong support system ensured continuity. Team members proactively stepped in to guide me, allowing me to seamlessly take on more responsibilities. This transition proved that despite organizational changes and shifting team dynamics, consistent support and mentorship remained a constant

The atmosphere here is welcoming. There is a strong culture of mutual support, where people are genuinely collaborative and ready to step in and help whenever someone needs assistance
