Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role was working within the Data Projects and reporting team where I helped manually enrol students, supervised students working with sensitive data. I created curriculum data and removed ghost allocations for students.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given quite a lot of responsibility. I supervised students on my own helping them if they had any questions. I was never supervised on work. I was given tasks and instructions and expected to do them which I did. I did overtime where I was trusted to complete data entry tasks on my own.

I received some support and guidance but it was mostly I was given a task and expected to learn and do it but senior staff were available if I had any questions or issues.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone was really nice and caring. They genuinely cared and wanted the best for you. I highly enjoyed my internship. There was lots of support available and I didn't meet anyone rude.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed it somewhat. I wish there was more variety of work as for a whole month it was basically just supervising students which I enjoyed but I wanted to do more varied work and I wanted more responsibility and opportunities.
