Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Conduct research into leading sport research and innovation institutions in the UK and internationally. Benchmark their areas of expertise, research strengths, strategic priorities and where possible organisational and funding structures. Identify factors that contribute to their reputation, visibility and success. Assess how Manchester Metropolitan University's Institute of Sport compares with peer organisations. Identify examples of innovative programmes, facilities, research initiatives and partnership activity. Analyse findings and identify themes, opportunities and examples of good practice. Produce a final benchmarking report with recommendations to support the future development of the Institute of Sport. Deliver a final presentation summarising opportunities and lessons for future development.
