Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
Helping assist in low voltage electrical Designs for the railway on the transpennie route upgrade programme. These designs include Points Heating, Junction lighting and general low voltage power supplies to equipment.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy my apprenticeship and my role. I have learnt so much since I have started and continue to each day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have developed my existing electronic knowledge through the study side (university) of my apprenticeship. I have also learnt so much about systems and electrical engineering.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is brilliant. There is so much help along the way if you are struggling. However, I found that it is very hard to struggle when the programme is structured so well.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive so much support. If I ever need anything, people go above and beyond to help me.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
The training provider is good. However my cohort had some issues along the way with how the learning is being delivered to us. You have to be independent and act yourself at times.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
Definitely, everything I learn each week I take into my role the next day.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
There is social activities to get involved in and plenty of networking events. There isn’t any sports teams that I am aware of. There is some from professional bodies however if you sign up to newsletters.
