Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

On the vacation scheme, you will be working on tasks provided by your supervisor. However, there is also plenty of time throughout the day to go for coffees with the firm's members and everyone is very happy to provide their time. Additionally, there are presentations most days where the firm talks to you about their different departments, the different networks/initiatives within the firm, and Q&A sessions. There are also often evening events which allow attendees to network and socialise.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

The insight provided was very comprehensive and genuine. The firm gave a very candid account of what it is like to work at HSF and how that experience differs between departments.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

HSF held workshops on skills required for commercial lawyers, such as advising clients. The scheme also allowed me to develop my proofing, legal research and commercial awareness skills when completing my work.
