Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

We were assigned a department for each week of the internship, with a trainee buddy and supervisor (a partner or senior associate).
Each week, we completed assessed pieces of work for our supervisor, which included real work that the firm was working on.
We also attended department presentations and social events, including partner drinks and pizza making.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

I really enjoyed understanding the law firm more thoroughly and about the pathways into law with the firm. It gave me an unparalleled insight into the firm, and whether it is a right fit for me.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The firm culture was exceptionally friendly. Every individual I met was friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. In particular, trainees from across the firm reached out to me for coffees to discuss any concerns I may have and their journeys. I was really impressed by the company culture.

I really enjoyed the insight and felt very valued by the company. I would definitely recommend it to other students considering a career at HSF.
