Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Communication and Confidence - as part of my placement I was given ample opportunities to present and communicate to a wide range of colleagues - both internal and external to the company. The benefit of doing so was two-fold, one I honed and refined my communication skills especially when talking to non-specialist audiences. Subsequently, I gained much more confidence in my presenting skills. This confidence led to more smoother presentations

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The support and guidance was excellent. This ranged from arranging a 'mentor' - someone who had been on the development programme before. This helped me settle into the role and the organisation really well. Also there was our Business Coordinator who was excellent in checking up on me and providing and answering any questions I had. And with each manager I had daily catch-ups which enabled me to feel confident in the work I was doing
