Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Assisting with engineering projects on the base and researching potential new projects with a strong enviromental concern. Consulting with various organisations within the base on the feasibility of research conducted.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Initial research and investigations into new projects were my responsibilty. I was accountable for the reporting and feedback for vessel safety walkarounds and examinations were I was expected to seek potential safety risks on board and report back

The internship provides a great insight into project engineering management with a strong focus on liaising with people both internal and external to the company working together for mutually beneficial goals.

What advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems
Research current projects and contracts of the company. Understand their line of work and the long history of the company. For my role within maritime services, an interest and general background knowledge in maritime history and engineering is very much useful. Few other opportunities are as unique as what's on offer at BAE
