Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?

My experience at Savills has been highly positive. I have had the opportunity to develop my technical surveying skills while working alongside experienced colleagues on a variety of projects. The supportive and collaborative culture has enabled me to grow professionally, take on increasing responsibility, and build strong relationships across the business.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

As a Graduate Surveyor, my role involves supporting a wide range of surveying and property-related instructions, including carrying out inspections, undertaking research and analysis, preparing reports and valuations, liaising with clients and colleagues, and assisting with the delivery of professional advice. The role also requires me to work towards my APC qualification whilst gaining experience across different aspects of the business.
The elements I enjoy most are the variety of work and the opportunity to gain exposure to different property types, projects and clients. I particularly enjoy combining technical analysis with practical problem-solving, as well as building relationships with colleagues and clients.

I feel that my role is preparing me very well for my future career. The graduate programme provides a strong balance of practical experience, technical development and professional training, allowing me to build the skills and knowledge required to become a well-rounded Chartered Surveyor.

I would rate the extent to which I have been developing new and existing skills very highly. Through both formal training and my day-to-day responsibilities, I have had numerous opportunities to enhance my technical knowledge, professional competencies and understanding of the property industry.
