Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?

Highly personable and professional and inviting.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I conduct viewings, inspections and surveys of specifically pub and hotel style properties. And do a range of desktop research and in person office meetings one per week and a department monthly.
I enjoy the professional valuation work and the agency side.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I feel integral to the operation of the properties I managed and are set tasks to conduct predominately by me and then reviewed by my colleagues.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I have received bonuses from my work and been fairly compensated for my work miles and social events.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I am all ready in the thick of it, in ever part of the property cycle from the client reaching out for a quote of work to conducting the work, to selling the property. This does constitute as a fulfilling role as I have a range of properties in different parts of that cycle and can see and feel more connected with the properties I have managed or provided a service to.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

There are many CPD event provided internally and option to attend external professional competency courses. There is also a comprehensive online resource that can fill in knowledge and inform you on how to use and interact with different services (honestly looks really good filled with videos of high quality and specific to what you are looking for). I have the flexibility to delve into extended learning as an when not micro managed.

How is the support you receive?

My line manager is great, HR is quick and responsive and it is easy to do many administrative tasks.

How is your work-life balance?

I have a good separation from work and personal time sticking to the contracted 1 hour lunch break. Once outside work it you could be contacted by people but you just follow up with them once your back at work and you are not on a out of hours pick up call arrangement. Saying this is rare that I receive calls out of office from colleagues.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Culture and atmosphere is really good, inclusive and friendly. But as always it will depend on who you are frequently and directly interacting with. But on a broad area across the company the key features are approachable friendly people.
