Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
It has been a full-on and immersive nine months with the company, during which I have gained valuable experience across a wide range of projects and instructions. This exposure has allowed me to develop my technical knowledge, strengthen my professional skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the practical and commercial aspects of the industry.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibilities have included assisting with the preparation of a variety of professional reports, including Schedules of Dilapidations, design specifications, and tender analyses, while supporting the delivery of projects across different sectors. The aspect of the role I enjoy most is the variety of work, as it provides continuous opportunities to develop my technical knowledge, gain practical experience, and contribute to a wide range of projects and client instructions.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I value the opportunity to take ownership of my work and contribute meaningfully to projects. Being able to put my name to work that I have completed or significantly contributed to is particularly rewarding and has helped build my confidence and professional development.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The pay is ok. However, the APC support is great and feels very beneficial. I am yet to be at the company during bonuses so can not give an opinion.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I feel the diverse and fast-paced nature of the work, combined with the opportunity to learn from industry-leading professionals, is providing me with a strong foundation for my future career. The variety of projects and responsibilities has helped me develop both my technical knowledge and professional skills, while gaining valuable practical experience that will support my progression towards becoming a well-rounded Building Surveyor.
