Overall, how would you describe your experience at DXC?
The company has been supportive, and mt experience overall has been positive. I have completed training to develop skills that benefit my role and career progression.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I shadow and support other employees who have the role I aspire to hold in the future. This has allowed me to develop skills and competencies that will support future roles in this area. I have enjoyed speaking to stakeholder, internal and external and making positive contributions to my area of the business.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Overtime this has improved as I have built more skills and confidence to contribute more. I have always felt valued by the team.

Over the time I have spent in the graduate scheme I have been supported to learn and develop and have been pushed to complete tasks independently.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I have developed skills through both formal training that has led to professional certifications and more informal training of soft skills and workplace expectations. This mix has been successful. Day-to-day tasks and activities have given me new skills and becoming more independent with these tasks has allowed these skills to develop.

How is the support you receive?

DXC create multiple lines of support though the scheme. Everyone is assigned a people manager, someone who sits within the academic programme who helps ensure you are getting the support, training and work you require. You then also have an assignment manager for the role you are in, who can support day-to-day tasks and more specific job-level development. We were also all given a buddy when we started, someone who has previously in our place to support us more informally. This mix meant all areas of support were filled.
How is your work-life balance?

The academic programme put on networking events and encourage graduates to get involved in the wider community with STEM and Career Events. The company have been flexible with working hours which support personal commitments I have in volunteering.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

The company's culture is inclusive, and hybrid working policies are in place. Everyone I have been involved with have been friendly and welcoming.
How would you rate DXC initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

The Dandelion programme is an initiative that supports Autistic individuals to find work. During the time I have been at DXC there have been a diverse range of events supporting pride, black history month, international women's day, local charities etc.
How would you rate DXC CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

DXC STEM Initiative - A lot of events supporting local charities and schools to bring STEM to children across the country.
Different offices support local charities in events such as bake sales, litter picking etc.

Why?
The support I have received has been great. There is a nice mix of training, work, development and CSR events.

Don't put pressure on it, be yourself and try to learn as much as you can from the experience.
