Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at DXC?
The overall experience working was great, however they are reluctant to give pay raises. The Graduate Scheme team are well intentioned and helpful but they are severely limited by DXC upper management and often give optimistic and often wrong information about progression within the company.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Main responsibilities were administration of RedHat Enterprise Linux servers, and the maintenance of documentation.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I always felt I contributed to my Team and to the projects I was assigned to. However, I never felt like I was valued by the company as a whole.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

It is easily one of the lesser paying Graduate Schemes and while the Benefits package is nice it didn't really contribute to me in any way. Their private medical doesn't cover long term conditions and supports few Hospitals in Scotland.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

My manager in my role made me feel like I was being prepared, but the rest of the company made me feel like I didn't have a future career at the company.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I felt I was always building better skills every day, and was consistently pushed out of my comfort zone but in a good way and not in an overwhelming amount.

My Line Manager and People Manager were excellent. Outside of them not much.
How is your work-life balance?

Work-life balance is not great at the company.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

They are an inclusive company, keep a positive attitude, and are usually welcoming. Their hybrid and remote working policy is abysmal. They enforce a in the office as often as humanly possible approach even when people do not have a need to be in the office or even have team working in the same office.
How would you rate DXC initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

Overall they are quite good with accessibility.
How would you rate DXC CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

I disagree with publicly showing charitable work for a company or a person. It goes against what makes charity charity. So yes they do their good work, but it always feels false to me.

Would you recommend DXC to a friend?
No
Why?
There isn't much of a progression one in the company. They pay new starts more than existing employees.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I was placed into the wrong role when I first joined. Once that was rectified it was almost exactly what I wanted/expected.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to DXC?
Don't overthink it.
