Analytics and Sales intern Review

During my internship at Bloomberg in London, I worked in Sales and Analytics, supporting clients and the wider sales team. On a day-to-day basis, I had hands on technical training on the terminal, client exposure, and assisted with client requests. I also gained exposure to Bloomberg’s products and how they are used by financial institutions in their daily decision-making.

Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility for an intern. I was trusted to work independently on analyses and client-related tasks as well as group projects. This required me to manage my own workload, work to deadlines and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Yes, I developed both my analytical and communication skills during my internship. I gained a much stronger understanding of financial markets and Bloomberg’s data and analytics tools, while also improving my ability to analyse large amounts of information and turn it into clear, actionable insights. Working in Sales also strengthened my client communication, presentation and relationship-building skills, as well as my ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.

I received a good balance of support and independence throughout my internship. The team was very approachable and provided guidance whenever needed, particularly when I was working on new tasks. At the same time, I was encouraged to take ownership of my work and solve problems independently as well as within my team, which helped me build confidence and develop my skills.

I really enjoyed my internship, particularly the combination of financial markets, analytics and client interaction.
