Data Management Professional Intern Review

As an intern, my primary project was developing a Python-based application that automated and accelerated a previously manual data analysis process. On a day-to-day basis, I built completely customizable dashboards that allowed users to view and analyze data from multiple specific angles. Beyond writing code, a part of my role involved consulting non-technical team members, gathering their feedback, and iterating on the app to ensure the user interface was intuitive and accessible.

Yes, I improved my skills across several areas. My communication skills grew through various presentations and events organized to showcase and explain our projects. Technically, I advanced my coding abilities, specifically learning how to optimize code to manage large databases within a professional environment. Additionally, I had the opportunity to build a strong foundation in financial markets and terminology, thanks to a two-week training program at the start of the internship

The support system was excellent. I was supported by an internship coordinator who was always there to help and arranged training sessions to introduce us to the department's experts and proprietary tools. For day-to-day work, I had a dedicated mentor to answer my questions and guide my project development, as well as a manager always eager to review my progress. Regular one-on-one meetings with all three ensured I always had the guidance needed to deliver the best possible app.

The company culture was amazing. There was a perfect balance between work and events organized across networking, socializing, volunteering, and professional development. The environment is highly structured and specifically designed to help employees grow and succeed. I also loved how approachable people were, everyone was always eager to have a quick coffee chat to talk about their career paths, current roles, and offer career advice.
