Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
I have really enjoyed my experience at Balfour Beatty. It is clear that they genuinely care about their early careers programme, investing significant time and effort into supporting and developing their people. The level of independence and autonomy we are given to manage our own work and projects is particularly exciting, empowering us to take ownership and grow professionally.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibilities involve supporting a variety of projects and initiatives across the business, working with different stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and drive positive change. This will give me exposure to multiple areas of the organisation, including finance, operations, health and safety, and business improvement.
One of the aspects I enjoy most is the variety of the role. I have will have the opportunity to work on different projects, visit depots, and engage with colleagues across a range of functions, which will help me develop a broader understanding of how the business operates. Being involved in meetings with different teams and stakeholders has also provided valuable insight into decision-making processes and the challenges faced across the organisation.
I particularly enjoy looking at ways to improve processes and contribute to business performance. The role has allowed me to gain experience in several areas of the business while building relationships with a wide range of people, making each day interesting and rewarding.
