Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
As a graduate, it is a fantastic environment to learn, develop, and build valuable industry experience. The supportive and welcoming team creates a positive atmosphere where you feel encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and learn from experienced colleagues. There are also numerous opportunities for professional and personal development, allowing you to take on new challenges, broaden your skill set, and progress your career. The combination of strong team support, ongoing learning opportunities, and clear pathways for advancement makes it an excellent place to start and grow your career.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
A big part of my role is commercially managing subcontractor work packages during the construction phase. This involves checking and processing payments, keeping track of costs, managing any changes to the works, and working with subcontractors and site teams to make sure everything is running smoothly from a commercial perspective.
The part I enjoy most is working closely with different people across the project and seeing the job progress on site. It's a great way to build my commercial knowledge while gaining a better understanding of how construction projects come together. I also enjoy the variety of the role, as each day brings different challenges and opportunities to learn something new.
