Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I work as an intern in the MCN hardware team. On a day-to-day basis, I typically write scripts, support hardware-related projects, investigate technical issues, and help improve internal workflows. My work often involves using automation to make tasks faster or more reliable, analysing data or logs, and collaborating with engineers to understand requirements and deliver useful outputs.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility during my internship. I was trusted to work on real tasks and projects that contributed to the team, while still having support available when I needed guidance. This helped me build confidence, improve my technical skills, and understand how engineering work is carried out in a professional environment.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
good everyone was super friendly and willing to help when i didn't know something. i think that is very unique to the company- i never felt like i was being a burden if i didn't know something and had to ask for help

Don't be afraid to ask loads of questions - when i started i was worried to ask questions incase of looking stupid but everyone is very supportive
