Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked on the design side of a compute subsystem at Arm, mostly SoC integration and RTL rather than verification.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a my own chunk of a larger engineering project that I was responsible for with support from the wider team.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt and developed skills around RTL and SoC design. Experience with digital design flows and areas such as lint, CDC/RDC analysis, RTL generation/integration. I also gained IP-specific and system-level knowledge as part of my training and exposure to the project.
Soft skills like asking for help effectively, working alongside experienced engineers, and taking responsibility of a defined piece of work.

Everyone I spoke to was super nice and friendly. Anyone on my team was generous with their time when I was asking for help. The intern program itself is well managed so that the support is always there.
