Analytics and Sales Summer Internship Review

As a Sales & Analytics intern, my role involved developing a strong understanding of Bloomberg products and using that knowledge in client-facing and sales-related activities. On a day-to-day basis, I worked on product and market training, calling, client meetings and follow-ups, as well as projects and presentations for the team. I also spent time researching client roles and workflows, speaking with Account Managers and Market Specialists, and identifying relevant Bloomberg solutions or opportunities to explore further. The role gave me a good balance between building technical knowledge and seeing how this is applied in real client conversations.

Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility throughout the internship. I was trusted to contact clients directly, arrange and attend client meetings, follow up on client feedback, and contribute to projects that were presented to senior members of the team. I also had the opportunity to help deliver training to a group of Bank of America graduates. As the internship progressed, I was given more independence, which helped me become more confident in client-facing situations and take greater ownership of my work.

Yes, I developed both technical and interpersonal skills during the internship. I improved my understanding of financial markets and different asset classes, while also becoming much more confident using Bloomberg’s products and tools.
I also developed my communication and client-facing skills through client meetings, outreach, presentations and training sessions. In particular, I became better at asking questions, understanding client needs, presenting complex topics clearly and following up effectively after conversations.

I received a lot of support and guidance throughout the internship. My team was very approachable and always willing to answer questions, give feedback and involve me in client meetings and projects. I also had the opportunity to learn from people across different teams, which helped me understand different areas of the business and build confidence as the internship progressed.

The company culture was very collaborative and open. People were approachable and willing to share their knowledge, which made it easy to ask questions and learn from different teams. I also liked that interns were encouraged to get involved, network and take initiative, so the atmosphere felt supportive while still being challenging and motivating.

I really enjoyed my internship. I liked the variety of the role, from learning about financial markets and Bloomberg products to attending client meetings, giving presentations and working on different projects. I also enjoyed meeting people across the company and being given opportunities to take on more responsibility as the internship progressed. Overall, it was a very positive experience and confirmed my interest in a client-facing career in financial markets.
