Overall, how would you describe your experience at Arm?
Very good; the work is meaningful and contributes to technology that impacts everyone's daily lives, the leadership team appear receptive to critical feedback from the employees, and the pay is good.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Contributing to compilers, low level libraries, IDEs, and various other software products. I particularly enjoyed my rotations in the compiler teams, where we were implementing support for new architecture features and improving codegen for existing Arm-based CPUs.

Line managers and buddies are overall very supportive, though HR can be slow to respond.
How is your work-life balance?

It's very much possible (and strongly encouraged within teams) to set hard boundaries on timing, allowing you to 'switch off' for the day.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Very inclusive, all the teams I've done rotations in have been very welcoming too. 40% of the work time must be in the office, for most people, but beyond that requirement working hours are generally flexible and where you work is mostly up to you.
How would you rate Arm initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

Very good, and the leadership team listens to the ERGs when they flag things that haven't reflected well.
How would you rate Arm CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
We're empowered to take time to volunteer, and Arm generally tries to be responsible. That said, there are still ethical and environmental concerns around the recent push to LLMs and generative AI.

Why?
I have recommended Arm to multiple friends already, as it's a great, supportive place to work collaboratively on new technology that most people will interact with.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Arm?
Ask questions, make sure you're familiar with how RISC CPUs operate and performance considerations therein, and be open to talking through your process / receiving guidance / feedback.
