Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Our team develop, improve and maintain tools that other teams in Arm uses internally for hardware description and development.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given access to the larger code bases but is only responsible for my smaller independent project. However I feel that my work has significance and impact because it is incorporated into a larger workflow that is used by developers regularly. and sometimes I am given small task to fix or provide features for the other workflows.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I work closely with my mentor and line manager, and they regularly help and give me feedback on points i am stuck with, but i was also given trust to work independently majorly so i feel sufficiently supported and guided. My colleagues in my wider team are all very friendly as well so i feel fit into the office community.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very collaborative and supportive. Performance focused so you can work the way you are comfortable with, as long as you deliver the objectives, which helps me with productivity. A large intern and graduate community which helps you settle in and make social connections with lots of events that are organised by the company.
