Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working within the Pensions Actuarial team. Calculating CETVs, doing factor calibrations, working on valuation documents. This was an 8-week internship.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, you start getting given client work in the first/second week and after the second week, you are solely doing client work. There is one project that you work on in the first two weeks and then present in week 3. All of your work goes through a do/check/review process as is standard in the industry so any mistakes will be picked up.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very friendly, outgoing, chatty. It's a very social company with lots of events organised and a collaborative work environment. It's a very diverse workplace with internal networks for Women, LGBTQIA+, Multicultural, Neurodivergent, etc.
