Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Arm?
My graduate experience at Arm has been the perfect introduction to the working world. I have received invaluable support and numerous opportunities to learn and develop myself. I am gaining more and more confidence thanks to the range of challenges and tasks which I've been able to get involved with.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The role involves rotations around different business teams so responsibilities often vary and are generally focused on a specific project which a team wants to deliver. Typically this will be a coding task which requires some research, communication with other colleagues and refinement through a review process. For me I enjoy the process of designing and writing code for a specific task as it brings me a lot of satisfaction having worked through a difficult problem. I also enjoy the fact that in order to complete a lot of tasks I need to engage with other people with more knowledge than me and learn from them.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I am reassured that my work is valued and recognised since every team makes a conscious effort to point out those who put effort into their work.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

Yes I feel I am fairly paid and rewarded for the work that I do. I also think Arm as a company has a good awareness of industry wide compensation packages and tries to be fair.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I feel I am being exceptionally prepared for the rest of my career as the rotation opportunities offered by Arm give me a lot of exposure to new teams and skills which I would not have gotten staying in a singular role for the entirety of the graduate scheme. It opens a lot of doors for me and gives me a clearer vision of my career prospects.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I am constantly developing and refining my skills and the company definitely encourages this by offering a wealth of resources for me to learn. There is also a culture of openness which allows me to dictate what I want to work on next which gives me more control over the types of skills I can develop and where I apply them.

How is the support you receive?

The support offered at Arm is second to none, there is a solid support network which provides a great safety net for both technical and personal issues. Regular check-ins with higher-ups and managers are scheduled so that you can voice any concerns or opinions.
How is your work-life balance?

My work life balance is very healthy, in part due to the flexible working environment. I feel trusted to get the work done in my own time which gives me the freedom to maintain my physical and mental wellbeing.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

The culture in Arm is one of support, passion and community. Everyone makes an effort to help each other and create a good environment for learning and growth. They encourage people to take time off if needed and provide platforms for people to express their opinions so that every voice is heard.
How would you rate Arm initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

Arm has a lot of DEI initiatives which the whole company actively engages in I think it creates a greater sense of community and belonging for everyone.
How would you rate Arm CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

They are very transparent with what they are doing to serve the community and the world in general which provides a sense of pride to be a part of such a company.

Would you recommend Arm to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe it is a perfect work environment and a great place to advance your career. I would encourage anyone to take up a role at Arm because it is a lot more than just a semiconductor company and there is a wide range of roles which people can choose.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

Throughout the recruitment process I was given a good sense of the type of role and company that I would be joining so there was no surprises when I showed up on the first day.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Arm?
Try to connect with the people you engage, show passion and a willingness to learn. It is less about being the smartest person and more about showing why you would be a good person to work with and have around the office.
